AUSTRIAN ART IN LONDON.
The interesting announcement is made that
Mr. Granville Barker is to present at a London
music-hall some of the sketches of Viennes life
by which Arthur Schnitzler established his repu¬
tation. Schnitzler, who is a medical man, and
still practises, is one of the two leading
dramatists of modern Austria. His plays, some
of which are merely scenes, are pychological
studies of contemporary life, and his recent
work has been pessimistic in tone.
